Campus overview

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya is situated in the serene and beautiful township of Kopili Hydro-Electric Project (KHEP) of NEEPCO. The township is flanked in the north and south by up-slope and down-slope hills marked with rising heads of pine trees. Placid Kopili water reservoir stranding round the west-fronts of the township provide an exotic view of the reservoir caught in the extended arms of calm and still hills.  The whole scene in the twilight inspires a mood of tranquility and peace.
A clean and green environment is well-maintained inside the township as well. The Vidyalaya campus stands in the centre of the township. The Vidyalaya building has two segments ― Upper Block and Middle Block ― having their separate and sufficiently large area. The expansive front yards of both the blocks display a flourishing garden and well-maintained hedge. The pavement from the main gate leading to the steps of central corridor has beautiful short hedge line on both sides. Two young spruce trees standing guard at the corridor end of the pavement add to the beauty of the campus.

The Vidyalaya has a large playground at the back of the Upper Block building. Again, a not-so-expansive playground at the back side of Middle Block sufficiently provides for basket ball court, volley ball court and kho-kho court. The Middle Block front yard also sports a well-developed badminton court. The Middle Block arena also provides for an Assembly Hall for 200. The Vidyalaya campus also takes pride in planting trees of economic and medicinal importance. Both the blocks as well as different nooks of the campus are well-connected by cemented gravel pavement.
